Privacy Policy

OpenGraph Fetch is a planning tool operated by Maddox Labs LLC. We help you preview and validate how your web pages render across social networks by fetching the metadata you request. This page explains what information is processed, the services we rely on, and how you can stay in control of your data.

1. Information We Process

When you use OpenGraph Fetch we process only the data required to show you a preview:

  • URLs you test. The URL you enter is proxied through our Cloudflare Worker so we can download the public page HTML and extract metadata. We do not store a list of the URLs you submit.
  • Fetched metadata. The OpenGraph, Twitter Card, and standard meta tags returned from the page are kept in memory so the preview can be rendered in your browser. This data is discarded when you refresh, clear the cache, or leave the site.
  • Validation errors. Any warnings or errors that appear in the interface are generated on the fly for your session and are not persisted on our servers.

We do not require accounts, collect personal information, or attempt to fingerprint visitors.

2. Analytics & Measurement

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregated usage trends, such as which features are most helpful or how often certain validation tools are used. GA4 collects standard technical information (IP address, device type, approximate region). IP anonymization is enabled and we rely on aggregated reports only.

To opt out you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or use a browser that blocks analytics scripts.

3. Advertising & Third-Party Services

OpenGraph Fetch displays ads through Google AdSense. Google may use cookies or similar technologies to deliver and measure ads, according to its advertising policies. You can manage your Google ad settings at adssettings.google.com.

The tool also relies on Cloudflare for hosting and to proxy requests to third-party websites. Cloudflare logs standard request metadata (such as IP address, user agent, and response codes) to maintain service reliability. These logs are automatically purged per their retention schedule.

4. Cookies & Local Storage

OpenGraph Fetch does not set any first-party cookies, nor do we store your URL history in local storage. Third-party providers (Google Analytics and Google AdSense) may create cookies or local storage entries to operate. Blocking these cookies will not break the core preview functionality.

5. Data Retention & Security

We do not maintain server-side logs of the URLs you analyze or the metadata retrieved. Temporary diagnostic information may be kept in our Cloudflare Worker logs for short periods (generally less than 24 hours) to troubleshoot reliability and abuse prevention. All infrastructure is hosted on Cloudflare and follows their security best practices.

6. Your Choices

  • Use the “Clear Cache” button in the interface to remove any cached results held in your current browser session.
  • Block analytics or advertising scripts with your preferred browser settings or extensions.
  • Contact us at ben@maddoxlabs.com if you have questions about data handling or would like confirmation that a specific request was removed from short-term logs.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may revise this policy as the product evolves or new integrations are added. Significant updates will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of OpenGraph Fetch after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

8. Contact Us

If you have any questions or privacy requests, email ben@maddoxlabs.com. We aim to respond within 3 business days.
